When Lula Mae Davis was born on July 15, 1878, in Kentucky, her father, George, was 27, and her mother, America, was 23. She married Samuel J. Tilton Neal on February 15, 1894, in Rockport, Indiana. They had six children in 23 years. She died on July 22, 1965, in Cabot, Arkansas, at the age of 87, and was buried in West Point, Arkansas.
