BELLA VISTA — Shirlee Janet Mutimer Bloom, 75, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Friday, May 21, 2010, at Legacy Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark. She was born on April 7, 1935, in Rockford, Ill., to Raymond Mutimer and Elsa Schneider Mutimer.
She taught junior high music in Elgin, Ill., high school music at The Valley Lutheran High School, St. Charles, Ill., and was choir director and organist at several churches. She founded and was the director of the Elgin Symphony Children's Chorus. She moved to Bella Vista 15 years ago from St. Charles, Ill. She was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church and Stephens Ministry. She played hand bells at the Bella Vista Community Church, Bella Vista Methodist Church and The Village Bells.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Bloom, of Bella Vista, Ark.; one son, Eric Bloom and wife, Amy, of Bella Vista, Ark.; one daughter, Jennifer Bloom, of Chicago, Ill., one sister, Bernice Shaffer, of St. Louis, Mo.; and one granddaughter, Betsy Bloom.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 East Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark., with the Rev. Richard Lindman officiating.
Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 5248, Bella Vista, AR 72714.
