Robert C. Lee, 79, died on July 29, 2011. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Born on June 14, 1932, Bob grew up in the small town of Branch, Ark., where he attended Branch School from 1938 to 1950. When not in school, he spent his days working the family farm. In 1954 he joined the Army as part of the 25th Division Artillery. He served in both Korea and Hawaii. He met and married Darlene Shelton in 1957 and they shared 51 years together until her death in 2008. As huge Razorback fans, they attended many games together and frequently purchased season tickets to support their favorite team. Bob and Darlene had two children, Johnna Beth and Robert Mark Lee. He was a shining example of Christ's love and raised his children with conviction and compassion. Bob worked as a meat market manager for Humpty Grocery for 22 years and for 10 years at Johnson Foods before retiring in 1995. He joined Southeast Baptist Church in 1962 where he was a dedicated member. He was a faithful servant and his life was an example of a life devoted to Christ. He left an imprint on many lives. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son, grandson and close friends. He passed many a hunting trip sharing stories and telling jokes. He enjoyed traveling to Branson, Missouri for vacation with his family and attending the shows. He loved family gatherings, holidays and vacations, always making his special chocolate cookies which his grandchildren hid from the rest of the family. Bob was witty and had a great sense of humor. He cared for his family offering encouragement in their trials and sharing in their joy. He never missed an opportunity to tell his grandchildren how proud he was of their accomplishments, big or small. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Omer and Oma Lee and his wife Darlene Shelton Lee. He is survived by his daughter, Johnna Beth Lee of Muskogee; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jeannie Lee of Fort Gibson; one grandson, Zachary Lee and wife Jackie; three granddaughters, Ami Maddocks of Tahlequah, Melissa Dotson and husband, Barry, of Tahlequah and Katie Bergmann of Muskogee; four great-grandchildren, Allison Maddocks, Seth Dotson, Hailey Dotson, and Caleb Dotson, and close friend Linda Johnson.Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Southeast Baptist Church with the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating. Interment will be in Oak Wood Cemetery in Paris, Arkansas at 4:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Charlie Barber, J.B. Bass, David Lee Byrd, Ronnie Ellis, Kenny Jackson, Earl Mackey, Kelly Rolland, and Sonny Salmon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Southeast Baptist Memorial Fund. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 N. York Street, Muskogee, OK.

Darlene Shelton Lee, 76, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, a loving mother, wife and grandmother died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Pleasant Valley Health Care Center.
Darlene was born August 25, 1931 in Paris, Arkansas to John and Hazel Shelton. She was a 1949 graduate of Paris High School and later graduated from Arkansas Tech College in Russellville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

On November 1, 1957, she married Bob Lee of Branch, Arkansas. They later made their home in Muskogee. After moving to Muskogee, she completed her Master’s Degree in Education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.

Darlene taught elementary school for over twenty years and completed the last several years of her teaching career at Tony Goetz Elementary School in Muskogee. She had a great love and passion for teaching children and spending extra time to make sure her students excelled in their studies.
Darlene was a dedicated and devoted member of Southeast Baptist Church where she attended regularly until a decline in her health. She was a faithful servant and her life was an example of a life devoted to Christ and left an imprint on many lives.

She enjoyed traveling to Branson, Missouri for vacation with her family, attending the shows and shopping for things for her home. She loved family gatherings, holidays and vacations, especially when it involved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Darlene was witty and had a great sense of humor. She left a legacy of a life devoted to Christ and love and care of family and friends.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hazel Shelton and sister, Colleen Shelton. She is survived by her husband, Bob Lee of the home; daughter, Johnna Beth Lee of Muskogee; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jeannie Lee of Fort Gibson; one grandson, Zachary Lee; three granddaughters, Ami Maddocks of Fort Gibson, Melissa Dotson and husband, Barry, of Tahlequah and Katie Bergmann of Muskogee; four great-grandchildren, Allison Maddocks, Seth Dotson, Hailey Dotson, and Caleb Dotson.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Southeast Baptist Church with Rev. Monty Baggett officiating. Interment will be in Oak Wood Cemetery in Paris, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Gary Green, David Byrd, Zachary Lee, and Jack Edmonds. Honorary pallbearers are Floyd Damme, Charles Barber, Sonny Salmon, and J.B. Bass.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Pleasant Valley Health Care Center and Trinity Hospice for the love and care of Darlene.
Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
