Lyndell Marie Rice, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 in a Fort Smith hospital.
She was born November 27, 1933 in Russellville, Arkansas to the late Cornelius Welch Johnson and Mary Ella (Cross) Johnson. She was 79 years old.

She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, Coy Appleton and James Edward Rice; two brothers and two sisters.

Lyndell was a retired LPN at the Paris Nursing Home in Paris and member of Northside Baptist Church in Charleston.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 6th, at Northside Baptist Church in Charleston, with Rev. Greg Qualls officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Young and husband Bill of Mountainburg and Lisa Nubbie and husband Bob of Clarksville; two sons, James (Buster) Appleton of Clarksville and William Appleton of Charleston; two step-daughters, Carolyn Douglas and husband Troy of Fort Smith and Sandy Haney of Charleston; one step-son, Randy Rice and wife Pam of Lavaca; one granddaughter, Melissa Nubbie of Clarksville; Eleven step-grandchildren and numerous step-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jimmie, Greg and Larry Johnson, Charles Appleton and Bruce and Larry Pearson.
