Kenneth Wayne Villyard, 83, of Longmont, Colorado passed away February 19, 2019, at Accel Longmont in Longmont, Colorado.
He was born April 14, 1935, in Russellville, Arkansas to Leonard and Alene (Nicholas) Villyard. Ken graduated from Paris High School in 1953. After graduation, Ken enlisted in the United States Navy serving four years 1953-1957 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Electricians Mate First Class. On June 26 1955 Ken married Ava Belle Brewer. She preceded him in death in 2003.
Following the Navy, he attended Tri State University in Angola, Indiana, earning a Bachelor Degree in electrical engineering. Later in life Ken earned additional BA and Master's degrees from Denver University. Ken began his career with AC Sparkplug in Milwaukee, WI where he worked until 1963 when he moved to Littleton. Here in Colorado he worked for Martin Company and their successor companies Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin.
On September 10, 2004, he married Harolyn Gumeson. He was a devout believer in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Ken enjoyed fishing, camping, and family.
Ken is survived by wife, Harolyn; a son, Steven Villyard and wife, Debra, a daughter, Kenta Villyard; five grandchildren, Keira Brack, Janessa Charitable, Brianna Villyard, Keely Villyard and Kameron Villyard; and two great grandchildren, Sailen and Kynji. He is also survived by step children, Cassie Anderson and husband, Steve and Kendra Reitz and husband, Kurt; grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) Cameron, Kaitlyn Anderson, Keith Reitz (Mallori) and Amber (Kevin) Moore; great grandchildren, Reagan, Peyton, Cadence and Hailey Cameron and Daniel and Emily Reitz.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
