Virginia Cotton Beshoner Jarrard, 73, of Fort Smith passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at her home in Fort Smith. She was an active member of the Goddard United Methodist Church for more than 40 years and was a retired dental assistant. She loved her family deeply, and her hobbies were her flowers and ballroom dancing. She was born near Scranton in Logan County on Oct. 22, 1931, to Henry Walter and Bessie Harris Cotton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Albert Beshoner; and seven siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Frankie Jarrard; three sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Sherry Beshoner of Lavaca, Dan and Shirley Beshoner of Fort Smith, and Ted and Kelly Beshoner of Roland; six granddaughters and one grandson. Three stepsons and daughters-in-law, Mr. Lee Jarrard, Les and Brenda Jarrard and Lance and Lisa Jarrard, all of Paris; two stepgrandsons and three stepgranddaughters; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Saturday, June 25, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with a graveside service at approximately noon at Oakwood Cemetery in Paris, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Les Braswell, Mike Morehart, Jim Cotton, Scott McKennon, James Walters and Roy Marshall.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Rev. Dois Kennedy, members of the Lavaca Police Department and members of the 6 a.m. Coffee Group at the Grapevine in Paris.
