FARMINGTON — Tommy C. Mills, 66, of Farmington passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at his home. He was born Dec. 14, 1941, in Fayetteville, the son of Harry Mills Sr. and Opal P. Bradley Mills.

He was an employee and co-owner of Moore's Chapel for more than 45 years. He was retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve, having served in Vietnam aboard the USS Arlington. He was a member of the Farmington First Baptist Church and the Fayetteville Noon Kiwanis Club.

He was a kind and generous man, a good friend and he enjoyed playing practical jokes. One of his great passions was working with his cattle and he also enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a loving and wonderful husband and dad and brother. His greatest delight was spending time with and spoiling his six grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Matilda Robinson Mills, to whom he was married for 43 years; one daughter, Beverly Pergeson and husband Keith of Prairie Grove; one son, Trent Mills and wife Julia of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Caitlin Pergeson, Cambre Pergeson, Turner Mills, Bailey Lossing, Edie Caroline Mills and Kendal Pergeson; one brother, Harry Mills Jr. and wife Marinel of West Fork; one sister, Mary Jane Luper and husband Randy of Winslow; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Jim and Sue Garmon, our friends at Luginbuel Funeral Home, WRMC Wound Care Center, Highlands Oncology Clinic and WRMC Hospice. They would also like to thank their many family members and friends who offered their help and support over the past several months. Tommy will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 at Farmington First Baptist Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at Farmington First Baptist Church on Rheas Mill Road with Pastor Barry Smith officiating.

Interment will be in Brentwood Cemetery with military honors.

Arrangements are by Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, online at www.mooresfuneralchapel.com.
