William Jesse Phillips, 82, resident of Fayetteville and Winslow, died yesterday morning at 11:30 o'clock in a local rest home, after an extended illness. He was born June 30, 1873, in Washington County, the son of Elijah and Rebecca Mitchell Phillips. He moved to Washington County 35 years ago from Fort Smith. Mr. Phillips was a member of the Christian church and was married to the former Miss Susan Hindrichs at Van Buren, February 5, 1896.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, Fayetteville, five sons, Carl of Siloam Springs, William of Shreveport, La., Elijah L. and Emery, both of Fayetteville, Hugh of Cupertino, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Hartsfield, Fort Smith, Mrs. Veda Black, Harrison, Mrs. Louise Borowski, Wallington, N.J.; two brothers, Virgil of Silsbee, Texas and Logan of Houston, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Zora Gregg, also of Houston, and Mrs. Dora Latcha, Shreveport; ll grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Nelson's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Susan Phillips, 93, a former resident of Fayetteville, died Thursday evening in a rest home in Harrison after an extended illness. She was born Oct. 4, 1876 at Van Buren, the daughter of William F. and Maria Jane Hindrichs, and was the widow of William J. Phillips who died in 1956. She was a member of Winslow Christian Church.

She is survived by five sons, Carl of Siloam Springs, William of Shreveport, La.,. Lige of Fayetteville, Emery of Prairie Grove and Hugh of Cupertino, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Hartsfield of Fort Smith, Mrs. Veda Black of Harrison and Mrs. Louise Borowski of Arlington, Va.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Nelson's Funeral Home.
