Eugene Patrick Brister, of Beebe, Arkansas, was born March 17, 1938, in Oxford, Mississippi to Wesley and Ethel Berry Brister and went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 6, 2009.

Mr. Brister was a Church of God minister for many years and served in the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jim and Donald Brister and a sister, Doris Youngblood.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Brister; two daughters, Karyn Rigney and husband Danny, and Becky Brister of Blytheville, AR; a stepdaughter, Sherry Cronk and husband Mark, and Terri Day and husband David of McRae, AR; a stepson, Doug Shannon, Jr. and wife Becky of Mt View, MO; eight grandsons; one granddaughter; three sisters, Charlotte Slay and husband Bill of Clinton, MS, Katie Garcia and husband Art of Yuma, AZ, Ann Williams and husband Hardin of Batesville; and a brother Ray Brister and wife Carol of Batesville, MS.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Westbrook Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 11: am Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Weir Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Seniors Ministry, Calvary Pentecostal Church of God, P.O. Box 184, Beebe, AR 72012, or Paul's Pockets, an outreach to elderly, retired and terminally ill ministers, C/O H.I.S. Ministries, P.O. Box 1921, Blytheville, AR 72136.
