Jonell (Jones) McGowan, 76, of McRae, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. She was born March 3, 1938 in Missouri a daughter of the late Jim Dick and Nezzie Byrd Quil and a homemaker. Jonell enjoyed fishing, playing games, dancing and flowers and was described by her family as a "goer."
She is survived by her sons, Alvin McGowan and Donny McGowan both of Judsonia and Terry McGowan of McRae; daughters, Ella Marie Gibson of Moore, Oklahoma and Diane Martin of Gobles, Michigan; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd McGowan and 12 siblings.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Weir Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia

Lloyd Alvin McGowan, 77, of McRae, AR., died May 25, 2012.
He was born April 30, 1935, in Heber Springs, AR., to the late Leroy and Ola Stanford McGowan.
He retired from farming after many years; he loved to coon hunt, to go fishing, and really enjoyed playing cards.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jonell (Jones) McGowan; 3 sons, Alvin Junior McGowan of Judsonia, Donny Ray McGowan, of Judsonia, and Terry Lee McGowan of McRae; 2 daughters, Ella Marie Sloate of Judsonia and Ola Diane Martin of Goblies, Michigan; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Reno Junior McGowan of Ocela, Florida; 3 sisters, Ella Mae Buchanan of Step Rock, Dorothy Jackson of Step Rock and Shirley Williams of Montana; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside Services were held at Weir Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia.
