Clay L. Vanoven Sr., 60, of Rose Bud passed from this life on May 13, 2019. He was born in Little Rock to the late James L. Vanoven Sr. and Katherine Vanoven Lucas on October 30, 1958. He is survived by his wife, Helen Mae Vanoven; two children, Clayton L. Vanoven (Amanda) and Ashley Vanoven; three step-children, Alice Christianson, April Brown, and Eddie Thomas; four grandchildren, Cahomie, Jemma, Braylen, and Paisley; two brothers, Jim (Shelby) and Marvin; and a host of friends and family
Clay is preceded in death by his father, James L. Vanoven Sr.; mother Katherine Vanoven Lucas; stepfather Clifton Shelby Lucas; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Clay was a heavy equipment operator for much of his life. He enjoyed playing pool, loved his grandkids, and was always tinkering or mechanicing on something. He was a long-time member of The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was a member of Rowe’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Bradford Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery on Little Red Mountain in Pangburn.
