When Mary Palestine Swafford Reaper was born on June 6, 1868, in Alabama, her father, John, was 41, and her mother, Ava, was 33. She married Benjamin Franklin Riepenhoff Reaper on December 9, 1885, in Coal Hill, Arkansas. They had 14 children in 19 years. She died on December 7, 1959, in White, Arkansas, at the age of 91, and was buried there
