James Willard Glidewell, 78 of Hoxie, died Wednesday November 24, 2021 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

He was born October 12, 1943 in Jonesboro, AR to James Royal Glidewell & Alphia Corsey Glidewell Farmer. After serving his country for over 22 years in the Army, he retired as a Master Sergeant. James was the patriarch of a large and loving family. He was a member of Hoxie Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Glidewell and Alphia Farmer; son, James Arthur Glidewell (Bud Bud); and brother Marion (Jerry) Glidewell.

He is survived by his wife, Ances Glidewell of Hoxie; son, Jeff Glidewell of Hoxie; daughter, Candace (Tom) Edwards of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Dylan Glidewell of Corning, Timothy (Claire) Edwards of Dallas, Morgan Glidewell of Walnut Ridge, Megan (Craig) Beakley of Jonesboro, and Brittan Edwards of Jonesboro; great grandchild, Devin Edwards of Walnut Ridge; and a host of cousins, nieces, & nephews who were very special to him.

Visitation will be Monday November 29, 2021 from 12:30PM-1:30PM at Hoxie Methodist Church.

A graveside funeral service will be held beginning at 2:00PM on Monday November 29, 2021 at Strangers Home Cemetery in Alicia with full military honors.
