Robert A Edley 1939 - 2021
Mr. Robert Abel Edley, of Charlotte, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the age of 82. He was born November 5, 1939 in Oregon, the son of Abel and Ethel (Noble) Edley.
Mr. Edley had worked as a carpenter for Frankie’s Cabinet Shop. He was also a cattle farmer. Mr. Edley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newark. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, and building things. He was an avid Arkansas Razorback basketball fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Henry Edley, Ralph Edley, and John Raymond Edley; and one sister, Sarah Lou Doyle.
Mr. Edley is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Lou Evelyn (Rutledge) Edley of Charlotte; one son, Calvin Edley and wife, Lori, of Charlotte; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Jackson’s Newark Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Charlotte Cemetery with Brother Bill Goodman officiating.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Ronald Stephens, Russell Stephens, Mark Ladd, Brian Miller, Larry Williams, and Kendell Rutledge.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Bryers and Tuesday Fish Fry Buddies.
