Shirley Ann Rieve, 83 of Little Rock passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021. She was born on July 17, 1937 in Gillett, Arkansas to Fred William and Alvira Schwede Rieve.
She graduated from Eudora High School where she was class valedictorian. After graduation, she moved to Little Rock. She was employed by Commercial National Bank and retired from Regions Bank having an uninterrupted career of over 50 years with the bank.
She had been a member of Grace Lutheran Church for over 60 years. Until the onset of Covid-19, she rarely missed a service or event at the church.
She was an avid Arkansas Traveler fan attending games since the mid-1950s. She was a fixture at Dickey-Stephens Park with her season tickets on the first row behind the Travelers’ dugout. She was honored to serve on the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Travelers Baseball Inc.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Vera F. Rieve, her sister and brother-in law, Frances R. and Mark Bennett. She was also predeceased by her shelties, Mitzi, Cindy, Casey and Honey. She is survived by her sister, Verna F. Rieve and her nephew, A. Mark Bennett, both of Little Rock; and many cousins and family members.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church, Kavanaugh at Hillcrest, Little Rock with Pastor Kent Schaaf officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13th at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street, Little Rock (501) 661-9111; baseball fans please wear your baseball gear. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or one’s favorite charity.
