March 11, 1935 - November 19, 2021
James Wilfred Westmoreland, 86 of Mammoth Spring, passed away November 19, 2021 in the Ash Flat Healthcare Center.
Born March 11, 1935 in Alicia; son of the late, John Lois and Dora Mae Johnson Westmoreland. James was a retired Marine and Farmer. He was united in marriage to Patricia Turnbull on December 9, 1966. He was the 4th District Commander and Commander of the Hoxie American Legion, active in the VFW, BVA and 40 & 8 Veterans Organization. He enjoyed doing woodworking and his favorite activity was to go fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Pearline Bella Westmoreland; two brothers, L.J and Ray; and two sisters, Alma and Mary.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patricia of the home; two daughters, Debra Sue (Jerry Lee) Foster of Mammoth Spring and Nancy Marie (Barre) Benton of Amory, MS; four grandchildren, Amos (Christa) Foster, Amber (Steven) Morris, Harli (Josh) Dykes and Sydni Benton; ten great grandchildren, Airon, Eric, Jarod, Brooke, Hunter, Seirra, Beau, Jameson, Emma and Tripp; three great great grandchildren, Rebecca, Oliver and Raelynn; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be Monday, November 22, 2021, at 2 P.M. in the Riverside Cemetery in Mammoth Spring with Pastor Curtis Fain III officiating. Pallbearers will be his family and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4 P.M. till 6 P.M. in the Bryan Funeral Home in Hoxie.
