Jewell Lovena Woodward Ferren was born in Little Rock, AR, September 5, 1930 to George Weaver and Maggie Elizabeth Hubach Woodward. She died Friday, July 1, 2016 at the age of 85, in North Little Rock, AR.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her sister, Gladys Woodward Hopper and her husband of 32 years, Sherman Clifford Ferren. Jewell graduated from Central High School near Judsonia, AR and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Harding College in Searcy, AR in August, 1959. She taught elementary school at Plainview, Kensett, Trumann, and Bradford until her retirement.

Mrs. Ferren was a long time resident of the Searcy area until she moved to North Little Rock to live with her son and daughter-in-law in 2007. She was a member of Levy Church of Christ. She is survived by her sons, Cliff and Karen Ferren of North Little Rock, and Louis and Althea Ferren of Vilonia, AR. She dearly loved her sons and their families which includes 4 grandsons and 4 granddaughters, Andrew Ferren of North Little Rock, AR, Matthew Ferren of Verona, WI, Kimberly (Michael) Lee of Cleveland, Mississippi, Kristen, Kaleb, Kaitlyn, Ashlyn, and Joshua Ferren of Vilonia, AR.

Visitation will be at 10 am Tuesday, July 5, at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy followed by the funeral service at 11 am with Mr. Garry Neal officiating. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery, north of Judsonia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paragould Children's Home.
