Stephen A. "Steve" VanHook, 69, of Springdale passed away September 19, 2019 surrounded by his family at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville. Steve was born May 14, 1950 in Rogers the son of Cleveland Paul "Shorty" and Juanita Brammer VanHook. After graduation from Rogers High School, he moved to Washington, D.C. working in the journalism department for the United States Government, he also served in the United States Army. Steve was a well-known florist in Northwest Arkansas and Oklahoma, a journalist, a former editor for three newspapers, he also worked for the Office of Human Concerns. He was raised in the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Alvin Lee and Paul Neal VanHook.

He is survived by his sister Lucy Sharp and husband Billy of Hindsville and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday; September 26, 2019 at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers. Private interment in the Rambo Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rambo Cemetery c/o the funeral home. Online condolences to www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com.
