ROGERS — Marcus Lee Hinshaw, age 47, of Rogers, Ark., peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2018.

He is preceded in death by his father, Troy Hinshaw and his dear friend, Kristie Jennings.

He is survived by his mother, Peggy Phelan; sister, Sonjia Roy; nieces, Savannah Elkins Eldridge (Justin) and Chandra Roy Hackler; great-nieces and nephews, Chance Eldridge, Maddison and Chevelle Hackler; aunts and uncles, Steve and Debi Phelan Anderson, Eugene Hinshaw (Barbara) and Olan Metcalf; and many other treasured family members: Kadence and Christopher McKinley, Andrea, Christopher, Genevieve and Juliana Stringer, Heath Lance and Michael Burks.

Marc graduated from Rogers High School in 1990. He had an early and lifelong love for music, performing extensively on the cello throughout middle school, high school, and into his adult years.

Marc worked at Foam Molding Corporation for 22 years in quality control. Later, he worked for Walmart corporate offices as an Operations Manager.

Marc was an active advocate, member, and supporter of Northwest Arkansas Positive Links Support Network for nine years, serving for two years as a board member. He believed in providing support and education for those living with HIV. He was particularly invested in outreach, including the annual community retreat.

Marc loved his family. He was a conscientious, giving, and caring friend. A caring boss, with high standards, he was loved by those he worked with. He loved animals with a special place in his heart for his cat, Tinkerbell, and his dog, Lucy. Marc was sassy and smart, with a gift for witty commentary and a dry sense of humor. He loved discussing the Hints from Heloise with his Aunt Debi and doting on his great-nieces and nephew.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Home, 2898 W. Walnut St., Rogers, Ark., 72756.

Services will be held Thursday, March 7, at 10 a.m. at Rogers First Church of the Nazarene, 4911 W. Pleasant Grove Road, Rogers, Ark., 72758.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northwest Arkansas Positive Links Support Network on Marc's behalf. www.hivarkansas.org.

Marc was a quiet fighter who had deeply held beliefs. If there were more people in the world like Marc, the world would be a better place.
