February 15, 1890 - August 22, 1967
Prof. C. C. Holcombe, WWI veteran of Ouachita county, died Tuesday night at his home, 409 Olive St. He was the son of the late Ritchard and Hannah Holcombe and was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church, Buena Vista, and served as Clerk for several years. He was a retired school teacher and a 32nd Master Mason for the past nineteen years, and was a willing worker in the community. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Precilla Holcombe; one sister, Mrs. Arilla Neal of Camden; one brother, Columbus Holcombe, of Rt. 1, Camden; nine stepchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 28 at 2 p.m. in the Good Hope Baptist Church. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (Camden News - August 24, 1967)
