Lessie Pearl Pace, 80 of Camden, AR passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015. On September 12, 1935, Lessie Pearl Pace also known as “Honey” began her life’s journey as the third of six children to Steve and Ruth Pace. She was born in Huttig, Arkansas, and later the family moved to Camden, Arkansas.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Greater St. Paul and then moved her membership to the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late great Bishop Wallace Johnson. She was an active member of New Calvary COGIC until her health declined. She was active in the Dorcas Circle, Sunday School, Usher Board, Kitchen Staff, and Sanctuary Choir.
She was employed for many years as a housekeeper for many families such as Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Horton, Dr. McFarland, Mrs. Hayes, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Horton, Jr, Judge and Mrs. Harry Barnes, and many others.
She preceded in death by her father and mother Steve and Ruth Pace, oldest sister, Rosevelt Williams, oldest and youngest brother, LC and McArthur Pace.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sisters, Mary Pace and Bobbie Kelly, both of Camden, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Greater New Calvary Church of God in Christ with burial in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8PM Friday at the funeral home. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
