Marian Edith Uplinger age 87, of Mountain Home, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Tuesday, January 24, 2017, in Mountain Home. She was born September 25, 1929 in Sterling, New York to Arthur and Amanda (Bellman) Goodsell.
Marian is survived by her daughter, Kim (John) Colborn, by three grandchildren: David (Julia) Stevens, Janell (Joseph) Foy and Jenna Stevens and one brother, Merrill Goodsell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wesley Uplinger, two brothers and one sister.
For several years, Marian worked as a secretary, in school offices, law offices and churches. In this way, she earned her PHT, i.e. she put her husband through while he prepared for ministry. Together, Marian and Wesley performed effectively as a ministry team. Their complementary personalities, dispositions and skills were utilized fully and faithfully in Godly service. In particular, Marian's vibrant cheerfulness, musical ability, kind generosity and Biblical knowledge were put to excellent use as a pastor's wife, choir director and Bible class leader.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Mountain Home Bible Church, with Pastor Mike Bennett officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10 am until noon. Interment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Home Bible Church Building Fund. Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
