When Leola Virginia Chumley was born on October 11, 1893, in McRae, Arkansas, her father, Samuel, was 35, and her mother, Laura, was 30. She had five brothers and two sisters. She died on January 9, 1952, in Judsonia, Arkansas, at the age of 58, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
