When Ruffus Ray McEuen was born on January 21, 1914, in Arkansas, his father, Rufus, was 40 and his mother, Rosa, was 34. He married Vernie Haynie on May 9, 1931. They had one child during their marriage. He died on January 5, 2001, at the age of 86, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
