*Obituary - James Franklin Cole

James Franklin Cole, 78, of Lamar, died Monday, February 6, 2012 in Clarksville. Born Thursday, October 5, 1933 to Elmer L. and Vesta Ann (Graves) Cole; he was a member of the Lamar Baptist Church. Born in Elma, Washington where he grew up and attended school; he lettered four years in football and baseball and was football All-American. He was an avid elk and deer hunter spending a lot of time with his father and brother in their cabin in the Black Hills of Washington. He worked for Simpson Lumber Company, McCleary, WA for 35 years. He loved coaching little league teams coaching his son's team in the 1960's, his daughter's team in the 1970's and grandson's team in the 1990's.

Survivors include his wife: Freda Jean (Killough) Cole of the home and daughter: Melodie Mueller of Lamar; 2 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother: Thomas L. Cole, Fernandinia Beach, FL; and sister: Mary Sue Cole Samples, Montesano, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents and one son: James Edwin Young.

Visitation will be 6-8 P.M., Friday, February 17, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be the Colt 45's. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Dillard, Jay Holland, Lance Spence, Brett Sampley, Bill Ray Sampley, and Larry Bridenback. Reverend John Griffin and Reverend Amos Pledger will conduct funeral services at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home, Clarksville, AR. Burial will be in Lamar Cemetery, Lamar, AR.

Freda Jean Killough Cole, 81 of Lamar, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Clarksville. Mrs. Cole was born August 25, 1934 in Redlick to Mr. Herbert and Emma (Ryder) Killough. She is preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, James Marion Young, Claude Wells, and James Franklin Cole; one son, James Edwin Young; one sister, and two brothers.

Mrs. Cole is survived by one daughter, Melodie Mueller of Clarksville and Mr. Harley Mueller; three grandchildren, Harley James Mueller, Piper Wren Mueller, and Joe Blayton Mueller; four great grandchildren, Isabella, Hailey, Braxton, and Harley Cole; two sisters Fay Davis, and Gladys Nation; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Charlie Boone officiating. Interment will be private at a later date.
