Rev. Milton Edmonson, 86, of Scranton died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at his home.

He was a retired Baptist minister and son of the late George Mose and Mattie Mae Hardwick Edmonson.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Esta Lee Swindle Edmonson; one daughter, Sandra Dix of Conroe, Texas; three sons, Neil Edmonson of Scranton, Wray Edmonson of Grove, Okla., and Ronald Edmonson of Oxford, N. C.; two brothers, Alvin Edmonson of Edinburg, Texas, and Gene Edmonson of Hemphill, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at the Second Baptist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Joe Craft officiating.

Burial was in Lamar Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Larry Hagensicker, Randy Vanderpool, Raymond McClelland, Jonathan Ely, Jay Edmonson, and Rodney Brown.

Honorary pallbearers were Charles Morris, Virgil Knight, Herb Stalcup, Wayne Johnson, Tommy Bauer, and Dr. Allen Newcomb.

Esta Lee Edmonson was born May 23, 1920 in Kirkland, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Henry Herman and Arah Parker Swindle. She died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at the age of 91. She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church, Paris, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Milton Edmonson; sisters, Wilma Vanderslice and Vera Edmonson.

She leaves behind three sons, Kenneth Neil Edmonson of Scranton, AR, Ronald Lee Edmonson of Oxford, NC, Milton Wray Edmonson of Neosho, MO; one daughter, Sandra Jean Dix of Conroe, TX; nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gene Edmonson of Hemphill, TX.

Visitation will be 6-8p.m., Friday, April 20, 2012, Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jay Edmonson, Reverend Neil Edmonson, Kenneth Edmonson and Charles W. Edmonson officiating. Burial will be in the Lamar Cemetery, Lamar, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Ely, Kenneth Edmonson, Charles Edmonson, Matt Brown, Stephen Brown, Kyle Shaw.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Brown, Brandon Vanderpool, Issac Brown.

Roller-Cox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
