Travis Lee Metcalf, 71, of Lamar died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at his home.
He was born Sept. 25, 1940, in Oxnard, Calif. He was a graduate of Oxnard California High School, an Army veteran and a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Metcalf.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Todd Metcalf of West Virginia and Jacob Combs of Lamar; one daughter, April Barnett of Paris, his mother, Nell Thomson of Hackett, one sister, Peggy Metcalf of Hackett; four grandchildren, Alex Metcalf and Austin Metcalf, both of West Virginia, and Kaylie Barnett and Keith Brown, both of Paris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and burial will be Wednesday at 10 am at Mount Vernon Cemetery with the Revs. Carl Sory and W.A. Sowells officiating.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Terri Mooney, Greg Holman, George Higby, Alan Hill, Kaleb Melson, Justice Lauden and Jim Ed Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Combs and Doug Story.
