John was the son of George Washington Holland and Lear Grace Ellen Brown. He married in Newton County, Arkansas, Minnie Henderson.

August 16, 1889 - April 18, 1968
Minnie was the daughter of James H. Henderson and Mary Jane Blackwood. She married John Green Holland.
