Helen Faye Brents-Wood of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 at Point Lookout Nursing and Rehab in Hollister, Missouri at the age of 84.

The daughter of George W. Tanner and Rosa (Smith) Tanner was born March 30, 1933 at Austin, Arkansas.

Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cabool, Missouri where she taught Sunday School classes. She enjoyed gardening and was a loving and understanding mother and trustworthy friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, William Earl Brents and her second husband, Johnny W. Wood and a daughter, Mona Kaye Brents.

Helen is survived by her son, William Earl Brents, Jr., of Little Rock; her two daughters, Marita Brents Roach and her husband, James Robert Roach, Sr., of Harrison and Diane Brents Sledge and her husband, Dewayne of Conway; three brothers, George W. Tanner, Jr. of Batesville, David Tanner of Russellville and Rocky Tanner of Russellville; four sisters, Georgia Manning of Dinuba, CA, Rosemarie Allen of Fredricksburg, TX, Margie Abshere of Pine Bluff and Sherry Foster of Morrilton; four grandchildren, Jacob Brents of Nashville, TN, Jessie Lynn Sledge of Colorado Springs, CO, James Robert Roach, Jr., and his wife Krystin of Fairbanks, AK, and Shane Brent Roach and his wife, Kristie of Weatherford, TX; four great grandchildren, Mikayla and Kalea of Granbury, TX and Talon and Aurianna of Fairbanks, AK and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Scotland, Arkansas (Van Buren County) with Bro. Verlan Wood officiating.

Pallbearers are family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are her brothers, George Tanner, Jr., David Tanner and Rocky Tanner.
