Burl Hatchett, 79, of Clarksville died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at his home.
A native of Newton County, he was a son of the late E. M. and Ruth Ogden Hatchett, retired truck driver and sawmill employee, member of the Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Hatchett; and three grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Will Pizzotti and Joan and Jim Rigsby, all of Clarksville; three sons, Gary Don Hatchett, Ronnie Dean Hatchett, and Burl David Hatchett, all of Clarksville; two foster sons, Bob Hency of Ozone and Wayne Hency of Colorado; two brothers, Glen Hatchett of Clarksville and James Hatchett of Michigan; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery with Rev. Don Carey and Rev. Bill Holt officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Christene Buchanan Hatchett, 78, of Clarksville died Friday, May 2, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Francis Marion and Mary Elizabeth Sisco Buchanan, member of the Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by three grandchildren; two brothers, Clinton and Jasper Buchanan; and three sisters, Alta Bowen, Clara Sanders, and Johnnie Ogden.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Burl Hatchett; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Sparks and Will Pizzotti and Joan and Jim Rigsby, all of Clarksville; three sons, Gary Don Hatchett, Ronnie Dean Hatchett, and Burl David Hatchett, all of Clarksville; three sisters, Hester Bowen of Mountain Top, Ruth Harris of Clarksville, and Amanda Hatfield of Fresno, Calif.; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, May 5, at Mt. Vernon Cemetery with Rev. Don Carey officiating.
