Evelyn Gillespie Fuller 86, of Camden, AR passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at her home. Evelyn was born on April 14, 1933, in Chidester, AR. Evelyn was the daughter of the late H.J. and Etta Lester Gillespie. Evelyn taught at Camden High School for 22 years, member of Camden First Baptist Church, Hero Teacher Of the Year 1975 and 1976, Ouachita County Medical Center Auxilliary Volunteer 1994-2020, 1997 John Stinson Outstanding Woman of the Year presented by Senator Dale Bumpers and 2008 very first Volunteer of the Year Award for her service to the Ouachita County Medical Center Auxilliary. Evelyn was known by her family and former students of being a very kind thoughtful lady and her special smile.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wyley J. Elliott and Lindell Fuller; step-son, Robert Fuller; three brothers, L.E. “Cotton” Gillespie, Carl W. Gillespie, Alvin Gillespie; one sister, Lila Gillespie.

She is survived by her son, David W. Elliott (Kirstie) of Mt. Clemons, MI; two daughters, Laura E. Romero (Jake) of Albuquerque, NM and Melinda E. Carker (Kit) of Sadler, TX; step-son, Lynn Fuller (Vicki) of Lake Charles, LA; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to OCMC Friends of Hospice 726 California Ave., Camden, AR 71701 or Camden First Baptist Church 348 West Washington, Camden, AR 71701.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00AM Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Camden First Baptist Church. Bro. Richard Piles and Bro. Gentry Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Chidester Cemetery.
