Joe Don Parris, 76, of Clarksville, AR passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019.

He was born January 9, 1943 to Lee and Sibilla Parris in Hope, AR.

Joe Don was a devout Christian and a member of the East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Joe Don was also an avid Arkansas Razorback fan.

Joe Don retired from the Clarksville School District after over 30 years in education throughout the state. At the time of his passing, he was serving as a member of the Clarksville School Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Brenda Sue Gibson. He leaves to cherish his memory brother, Tom Parris (Margaret) and brother-in-law, Dennis Gibson; children, Lee Parris (Kim) and Jill Johnson; three grandchildren, Greg Parris (Molly), Laura Widener (Drake) and Cassidy Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Maggie and Ella Widener; and special friends, Steve and Cheryl Ziegler.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the Hardwicke Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church in Clarksville, Arkansas with Brother Robbie Jackson and Brother Stan Parris officiating. Burial will follow at East Mount Zion Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Steve Ziegler, Steven Wyatt, David Watts, Greg Parris, Tom Parris, Chuck Van Patten, Rob Robinson, Rob Murray, and Kevin Wood. Honorary Pallbearers are Dennis Gibson, Jim Hartsfield, and the Men of East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church.
