Jewell Dean Self, 70, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at his home.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Argus and Carmen Warren Self, graduate of Clarksville High School, member of the River Valley Church of Christ, Air Force veteran, retired employee of the physical plant at the University of the Ozarks, and was preceded in death by his stepmother, Wilma Cowell Self; and grandparents, Robert and Ida Dobbs Self and Ambrose and Lela Long Warren.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty Hefley Self; one daughter, Deana Selby and husband, Jeff, of Clarksville; one son, Richard Self and wife, Melinda, of Clarksville; one adopted daughter, Lynda Shook of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Devin Self, Aeryk Self, Lexie Self, and Cheyenne Selby, all of Clarksville; two sisters, Myrtle Rofkahr and husband, J.C., and Janice Weaver, all of Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Goldie Workman of Clarksville; one nephew, Gary Rofkahr of Oklahoma; two nieces, Terri Cash and Kim Thompson, both of Oklahoma; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 14, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Kuonen and Dr. Rick Niece officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.
