Milas "Shorty" Spivey, 88

Funeral Services for Milas "Shorty" Spivey of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be private.

Shorty passed away October 14, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 88. He was born January 11, 1926, in Harden County, Illinois, the son of Milas and Minnie Aaron Spivey, Sr. He married Dorothy Nelson on February 15, 1976, at Mountain Home, Arkansas and owned and operated the Patio Restaurant and the Farm Restaurant. Shorty was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving on the Aircraft Carrier, Shangri-La. Shorty lived in Mountain Home since 1963, moving from Kankakee, Illinois. He enjoyed hunting, work, gardening and loved talking to people.

Shorty is survived by his wife, Dorothy Spivey of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Pat (James) Bryant of Mountain Home, AR; three grandchildren, Jamie (Brad ) Parnell, Trisha (John) Blair and Marta (Brent) Edens all of Mountain Home, AR and eight great-grandchildren, Jordan and Tyler Parnell, Conner (Chloe), Erin, Amelia and Ian Blair, and Abby and Bryant Edens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Naomi Ruth Masten and brother, Millard Spivey.

Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
