Artemus Ray McElhaney, 75, of Ozark, Arkansas, died Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Ozark.
He was born March 29, 1942 in Webb City, Arkansas to Chester A. and Attie McKenzie McElhaney.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was former Chief of Police for the City of Ozark, served in the Arkansas Army National Guard, was a member of the National and State Fraternal Order of Police, the Arkansas Chief of Police Association and was Cofounder of the Eagles Altus.

Artemus is survived by two sons, and a daughter, a sister; two brothers,and ten grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police Honor Guard.

Funeral service will be held 9:00 AM Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Boren officiating and burial at Highland Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
