Eddie Lee Loftis, age 60, of Cabot went to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 22, 2013. He was born November 14, 1952 in England, Arkansas to Robert Self and Dean Miller Self.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Self, two brothers Earl Miller, James Loftis, one daughter Melinda Loftis, and one granddaughter Nicolette Paige Preston. He was a United States Navy Veteran.

He is survived by his loving wife Melody Loftis, his mother, Dean Miller Self, daughter Tena Easter and husband Marc, sons, Scott Preston and wife Nancy, Kurt Preston and wife Tamila, siblings, Marie Henschel and husband John, Margaret Ogle and husband Rob, Robbie Hale and husband Richard, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at South Bend United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home & Crematory (501) 982-2136. .

Melody Ann Loftis, 70, of Austin passed from this life on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. She was born Saturday, April 2, 1949 in Los Angeles, California to the late Carlyle and Shirley Baumgarde Boyden. Mrs. Loftis was a member of South Bend United Methodist Church. She spent many years shaping young minds and hearts as a daycare teacher. She enjoyed singing and dancing but found her greatest joy in her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Loftis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all whose life she touched. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Lee Loftis in 2013; brother, Brent; daughter-in-law; Tamila Preston; granddaughter, Nicolette Preston and daughter, Melinda Loftis.

Survivors include her children, Scott (Nancy) Preston of Austin, Kurt Preston of North Little Rock, Tena (Marc) Easter of Ward; siblings, Bonnie Bichl of Wisconsin, Robin Boyden and Courtney “Corky” (Kim) Boyden both of Illinois. Other survivors include grandchildren, Adam Anderson, Jade (Derek) Walker, Robert (Ashley) Easter, Dakota Preston, Rebecca (Derrick) Swinton, Zakkariah Preston, Tia Preston; great-grandchildren, Kadence Walker, Logan Walker, Eddie Easter, Noah Preston, Hester Easter and one on the way, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home with Brother Garren Hagemeier officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made in Melody's memory to South Bend United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 307, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72078. Arrangements entrusted to Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136.
