PEA RIDGE — Leon Sorrell, 83, of Pea Ridge died Tuesday, March 12 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Dec. 30, 1935, at Elmstore, Ark., to Audie Lee Sorrell and Tola Anna Chester Sorrell.
He moved to Pea Ridge from Indiana in July 1980 to make his home. He enjoyed cattle and goat sales and being outdoors. He attended the Church of God and was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jo Ann Sorrell; two granddaughters, Angela Denise Sorrell and Jennifer Sorrell; two sisters, Eva Lou Gains and Rebecca Shaffer; three brothers, Audie Sorrell Jr., Benny Lee Sorrell, and Sammy Sorrell.
Survivors are five sons, Darrell Sorrell (Donna) of Modoc, Ind., Randy Sorrell (Tammy) and Ben Sorrell (Jeanne) of Galena, Mo., Kern Sorrell (Sherri) of Neosho, Mo., Rusty Sorrell (Melody) of Pea Ridge; two daughters, Donna Whitted (Erbie) of Pea Ridge and Julia Ferguson (Steven) of Garfield; two brothers, Tommy Sorrell of Guthrie, Okla., and Paul Sorrell of Republic, Mo.; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service is set for 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 15 at Pea Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Visitation is set for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 14 at Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net.

PEA RIDGE — Jo Ann Sorrell, 72, of Pea Ridge, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at her home. She was born July 28, 1938, in Charleston, Ill., to Hubert Lloyd Tinsman and Julia Belle Walker Tinsman.
She married Leon Sorrell, April 4, 1958, at Farmland, Ind., and moved to Pea Ridge in July of 1980 to make her home. She retired from Tyson Foods where she was a health and death insurance benefits coordinator. She was a member of the Pea Ridge High School scholarship committee for 18 years, and a member of the Pea Ridge Booster Club.
She attended the Church of God and is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bob Tinsman; one sister, Beverly Atnip; and two granddaughters, Angela Denise Sorrell and Jennifer Sorrell. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, cooking and her family.
Survivors are her husband, Leon Sorrell of the home; five sons, Darrell Sorrell and Tammy of Modoc, Ind., Randy Sorrell and Tammy, Ben Sorrell and Jeanie, all of Galena, Mo., Kern Sorrell and Sherri of Neosho, Mo., Rusty Sorrell and Melody of Pea Ridge; two daughters, Donna Whitted and Erbie of Pea Ridge, and Julia Ferguson and Steven of Garfield; four brothers, Jerry Tinsman, John Tinsman and Joseph Tinsman, all of Farmland, Ind., Hubert Tinsman Jr. of Venezuela; 25 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Pea Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
Visitation is set from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 30, at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge.
