PEA RIDGE — Gary Dean Messer, 77, of Pea Ridge, died Aug. 10 at his home. He was born Aug. 12, 1940, at Pea Ridge, to E.C. "Red" Messer and Lennie Belle Hall Messer.

He graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1958 and worked for Crane Co. in Rogers for 18 years. He was owner and operator of Pea Ridge Florist from 1983 to 1995. Dean served in the Rogers unit of the Arkansas Army National Guard. He was a member of Pea Ridge Church of Christ and is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Yvonne Spencer; twin brother, Gene Messer; infant granddaughter, Jamela Alnasery and grandson, Dustin Hickman.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Minta Belle (Hickman) Messer; stepson, Danny Hickman; stepdaughter, Gwen Alnasery and husband Esam Alnasery; granddaughters, Zaynab Alnasery and Codi Hickman Hawkins and husband Maurice Hawkins; great-granddaughter, Ava Belle Alnasery; nephews, Mike Spencer and Fred Spencer and wife Ann; great-nephew, Shay Spencer and wife Kriss; and great-niece, Stephenie Spencer.

Funeral is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is set for 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pea Ridge Cemetery.
