Martin Daniel Harper, 88, of Jefferson, died Wednesday at Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock. He was born January 10, 1924 in Lincoln County to the late Felix and Mary Ophelia Hawkins Harper. He had worked at Central Maloney as a welder, and was a member of the Pentecostal Church. He had served in the US Navy during World War II. Also preceding him in death were a brother, Harold Harper; and sisters, Mary Murphy and Dorothy Nowlin. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Rodgers Harper of Jefferson; 4 sons, David Alan Harper and wife Maribel of Van Buren, Dickey Lloyd Harper and wife Teri of Malvern, Rickey Floyd Harper and wife Angelia of Bay St. Louis, MS, Ronald Sheldon Harper and girlfriend Valerie of Beaumont, TX; 1 daughter, Jeanne Arcement and husband Gary of Sheridan; 2 brothers, Robert Harper of Star City, Lavon Harper of Houston, TX; 2 sisters, Vernice McGehee of Star City, Louise Bailey of Star City; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at White Hall United Pentecostal Church, 7745 Sheridan Road, White Hall, AR 71602. Bro. Chris Dixon and Bro. Travis Smith will officiate.
