Homer Laron “Ronnie” Weatherford, 73, of Star City passed away Sunday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.

He was born August 7, 1943, in Lincoln County to the late Homer Bassel “H.B.” and Shirley Lavern Culpepper Weatherford.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Star City, where he was chairman of the ushers and member of the Fishermen’s Class.

He was retired from International Paper, where he was a papermaker.

He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy Submarine Service, where he served on the U.S.S. Segundo.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Goins Weatherford of Star City; two daughters, Traci (Morton) Weatherford-Brown of Pittsburgh, PA, and Rachel (James Adam) Martin of Cypress, TX; two sisters, Shirley Ann Parker of Glendale and Susan Ashcraft of Star City; six grandchildren, Lily Grey Weatherford-Brown, Harper James Weatherford-Brown, Henry Dean Weatherford-Brown, Reed Davis Weatherford-Brown, Grayson Anne Martin and Lennox Aaron Martin.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, at First Baptist Church in Star City with Bro. Robert Greene and Bro. Marcus Rogers officiating.

Visitation is 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.

Burial at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.
