Funeral Services for Bernard "Bernie" Jay Rogers, 66, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time.

Bernie died Friday, March 18, 2011 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born August 11, 1944 in Rockport, West Virginia, the son of Roma R. and Dola H. Whipkey Rogers. He married Cynthia Henkel on February 22, 1969 at Lockport, Illinois. Bernie retired after 32 years from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1997 and moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas from Channahon, Illinois. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #300 in Joliet, Illinois since 1971 and the International Association of Machinists Local 851. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing horseshoes.

Bernie is survived by his wife Cindy of Mountain Home, AR; son, Wayne Rogers of Mountain Home, AR; grandchildren, Marya, Jacqueline and Alexander Rogers of Bolingbrook, IL; brothers, Jimmie Rogers and George (Dottie) Rogers both of Mineral Wells, WV; sisters, Betty (Herb) Dowler of Joliet, IL; Freda (Edward) Beha of Channahon, IL; Maxine (Milton) Richards of Glendale, AZ; and Janet (Roy) Sampson of Rockport, WV.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dorothy Davis, and 2 grandchildren.

Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
