David Andrew Rector, 93, of Bigelow passed away on July 10, 2021. He was born April 16, 1928 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late David Oscar and Edith Frances (Smith) Rector. In addition to his parents, David will be welcomed into Heaven by his wife of sixty-two years, Irma Rector; daughter, Sandra Goodman; son-in-law, Ronald Goodman; and brothers, Jacob and Eugene Rector.

David was a man of God and longtime member of First Assembly Church in Jacksonville. He and his wife, Irma, held sermons for eighteen years at the Spring Creek Living Center, and occasionally Woodland Hills Nursing Home. As a career, David was a successful real estate broker for over forty years and in his spare time, David enjoyed birdwatching and tending to his vegetable garden. David was happiest when his entire family got together for family reunions.

Those left to cherish David’s memory include his beloved dog, Pixie; his children, Elizabeth (Richard) Nelson, Darryl (Sara) Rector, and Paul (Gayla) Rector; sister, Rita Euler; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren that he adored.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the funeral home. David will be laid to rest next to his wife in Chapel Hill Memorial Park immediately following the service. Arrangements by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 892-2136.

Irma Gunhild Rector, 89, of Jacksonville died Sunday, June 1, 2014. She was born August 8, 1924 in Alvsby, Sweden to the late Johan and Olga Johannson Ohlund. She and her family immigrated to the United States on February 5, 1928. She attended Northwestern Bible College, now Northwestern University, and worked as a legal secretary for 40 years. Mrs. Rector played the accordion and piano and was very active in the children's ministry at First Assembly of God in Jacksonville, where she was a member. She and her husband, David, ministered to the residents at Springcreek Living Center in Cabot for 18 years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rector was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ronald Goodman and a brother, Rudolph Ohlund. Mrs. Rector is survived by her husband of 62 years, David Rector; her children, Elizabeth Nelson (Richard), Darryl Rector (Sara) and Paul Rector (Gayla); a sister, Elna Kittel; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville with Brother Royce Lowe officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park under the direction of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501)982-2136. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
