Sherell Dugger, 86, of Beebe, Arkansas, was born January 14, 1923, at Opal, Arkansas, and he died peacefully at White County Medical Center in Searcy under hospice care on Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Born to Homer Benjamin and Roxie Bell Parks Dugger, he married Hilton Marie McDaniel in September, 1944. Sherell was a retired cotton farmer and was a member of Stoney Point United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Farm Bureau and NRA, and was an avid fisherman.
Sherell was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Hilton Dugger; two daughters, Shirley Marie Dugger and husband Leon Sanders of Little Rock and Trisha Annette Amburn and husband Michael of Lexington, Kentucky; one son, Gary Stephen Dugger of Beebe; grandchildren Ann Healy and husband Ken, Melissa Prine, Garrick Dugger and wife Lisa, Amanda Miller and husband Eric, Rachel Dugger, Marie Estelle Appleman and husband Jeremy, and Kyle Benjamin Amburn; great-grandchildren Andrew Davis, Jacob Davis, Kathryn Healy, Maegen Holcomb, Garrick Peyton Dugger, J.D., Rivers, and Weston Miller, and Novalee Anneliesse Appleman.
The family would like to thank the staff at Beebe Retirement Center for their care.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2009, at Stoney Point Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Stoney Point United Methodist Building Fund, c/o Jim Rye, 1203 N. Holly, Beebe, AR 72012.
