C. L. Smith (Smitty), 79, of Beebe, Arkansas, went home to his heavenly Father April 6, 2008. He was a master plumber for fifty years; a licensed deacon for over thirty-five years for The Church of God of Prophecy. He was the proud owner of Heaven Bound Restaurant in Beebe. He was also a member of The Church of God in Austin, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Elta Webb Smith; father William Benton Smith; two sisters, Gladys Neal and Climmie E. Rettig Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Frances L. Smith; two children, Wally L. Smith and Kandy L. Evans, both of Beebe; three grandchildren, Tiffany Norton, Michael and Laura Evans, all of Beebe; one brother, Charles E. Smith of Beebe; two sisters, Rose Lee Hippler of Beebe and Rita Webb of Benton. He is also survived by a whole host of nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at Cabot Church of God of Prophecy, with burial in Stoney Point Cemetery. www.westbrookfuneralhome.com
