When Lois Gertrude Nall Waymire was born on July 16, 1913, in Saline, Arkansas, her father, John, was 23, and her mother, Dovie, was 16. She married Jesse Floyd Waymire and they had five children together. She also had four children from another relationship. She died on October 25, 2003, in Beebe, Arkansas, at the age of 90, and was buried there.
