Loving wife, precious and devoted mother and grandmother, GWENDOLYN “GWEN” HALLMARK, of North Little Rock, passed away on Sunday evening, April 6, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock from complications of a stroke she suffered in February. Raised in Beebe, Ark., Gwen was the daughter of Mikey and Lottie Dugger Fecher. She spent her early days on the farm where they raised cotton, strawberries, and cows. Gwen was a longtime employee of Blass Department Store and Pulaski County, retiring in 1986. After retiring, Gwen and Melvin spent several years traveling across the U.S. with their Hi-Lo trailer behind them, which left them with many memories.
She was predeceased by her parents, brother, J.T. Fecher and sister, Marylee Logan all of Beebe. Gwen is survived by her husband of 62 years, who adored her, Melvin L. Hallmark; her daughters and their husbands, Glenda and Bill Gillespie of Grove, Okla., and Vicki and Wayne Adcock of North Little Rock; three grandsons, David Adcock of Fayetteville, and Alan and William Gillespie of Denver, Colo. She also leaves behind many loving family members and lots of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the caring nurses and doctors at St. Vincent CCU. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Stoney Point Cemetery. At Gwen’s request, please do not send flowers. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O.
