Dorothy Marie Aue of Gravette, Ark., passed away July 20, 2013. The memorial service will be held Aug. 9 in Gravette, Ark., and the interment of the ashes Aug. 10 in Stoney Point Cemetery near Beebe, Ark.. Dorothy was born April 13, 1916, near Dennis in Parker County, Texas, to Frank Otis Davis and Betty Lee Williams Davis.. She graduated from Dennis High School and went on to junior college in Weatherford.. In 1938, she graduated from Texas Teachers' College (NTU) with a Bachelors' Degree in Physical Education, and in 1941 with a Masters' Degree in Education.. She taught Physical Education for seven years; first in public schools, then at the El Paso College of Mines and Metallurgy (UTEP).. While teaching in El Paso, she met her husband, Ernest Herbert Aue, a Michigan native stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. They were married March 20, 1944. They lived most of their married live in Michigan, Texas and Arkansas. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church and the PTA. Although she never returned to teaching, she always had great respect for education.. Her interests included handwork, reading, flowers, collecting dolls, antiques, jewelry, the color red, bluebonnets, pecans, quilts, history, family and Texas.. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; one sister, Elizabeth McElroy, of Danielsville, Ga.; and one son, Joe Aue, of Ennis, Texas.. Survivors include one sister, Mary Nell Brown, of Texas; three children, Frank Aue, Paul Aue and wife, Jamie, of Gravette, Ark., Mary Aue Mitchell and husband, Steven, of Jefferson City, Mo., and daughter-in-law Sophenia Aue, of Ennis Texas; and eight grandchildren, Eric Aue, Frank Aue, Rachel Aue, James Aue, Charles Aue and David Aue, of Texas, Jeffrey Aue, of Gravette, Ark., and Benton Mitchell, of Jefferson City, Mo.

Ernest Herbert AUE was born on May 18, 1910, in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of Ida and August. He married Dorothy Marie DAVIS on March 20, 1944, in Yuma, Arizona. They had four children during their marriage. He died on March 2, 2007, in Gravette, Arkansas, at the age of 96, and was buried in Beebe, Arkansas.
