Edith Jones Rawls, 85, of Jacksonville, passed away on Saturday, January 24. She was born on August 14, 1929 in Sardis, MS to the late Travis and Stella McClain Jones. She is also preceded in death by her husband C.L. Rawls, and two sisters; Donna Faye Middleton and Maxine Bowden.

"Jo", as she was always called by her family and friends, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was employed on Little Rock Air Force Base, and then went on to retire after 20 years of service from the Federal Building.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Mrs. Rawls spent the last 5 years at Elmcroft in Sherwood, and the family would like to thank their kind staff for the love and care they provided. Jo is survived by her daughter; Micki Pate and her husband Jimmy R., two grandsons; Jimmy M. Pate, and Joshua Pate, all of Jacksonville, special family friend; Renee Blair and family in San Diego, CA, as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501)982-2136. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, also at the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
