Clinton D. Thompson, Jr., age 79, of Cabot passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012. He was born July 1, 1932 in Independence County, Arkansas to the late Clint D. Thompson, Sr., and Virgie Thompson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Clinton D. Thompson, III.

He was a self employed heavy equipment operator, a United States Navy Korean War Veteran, and was a member of Jacinto Masonic Lodge in Jacksonville, and was a clown in the Scimitar Shrine.

He is survived by his daughters, Cathy Stroud and her husband Gary, Caren Shantz, three brothers; James D. Thompson, Johnny C. Thompson, Roger D. Thompson, three grandchildren, Shanon Stroud, Jennifer Elliott, Joshua Shantz, four great-grandchildren; Madelyn Elliott, Hannah Elliott, Aiden Shantz, and William Shantz , he is also survived by his loving dog Brittany.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
