When Searcy James Lowrey was born on August 8, 1901, in Clinton, Mississippi, his father, William, was 43 and his mother, Theodosia, was 31. He married Kathryn Elizabeth Roth and they had two children together. He then married Clara Baker Lowrey on July 14, 1967, in Provo, Utah. He died on May 20, 1983, in Enola, Arkansas, at the age of 81.
